I think I just got lucky in that the ultimate endgame victory event fired in my neighborhood. I already had a short victory by that time, but wasn’t even halfway to a long victory. I was having so much fun building up my Rakaph wall that I accidentally took the last enemy settlement and won an ultimate victory. That felt a little dirty and metagamey but it worked. This was advantageous as I had enough leverage to move Rakaph all the way up to defensive allies, but I also replenished a lot faster if Rakaph owned the settlment because then I wasn’t paying the red-climate penalties. Then I decided to build up Rakaph dynasty as a bulwark to take the heat so I’d push up and grab desert settlements then gift them to Rakaph immediately. I parked a few armies on the desert/jungle border and playing ambush with the stacks to thin them down and soften them up. ![]() ![]() Settra and Thorek and some minor TK factions had to eat the brunt of the initial wave of enemy stacks. This is an interesting one to have happen as Teclis because it’s right next door, but not so close as to be an immediate threat. I was doing fairly well in prosecuting the foreign war when the Black Pyramid even fired. Plus Lustria had more favorable climate to my faction than the continent I’d started on so it seemed to make a lot of sense. I shipped a few stacks west along the ocean and started taking over Lustria since I was an already an experienced lizard-buster. After wiping out the lizards and making friendly with Khalida/Settra/Thorek/Nakai I was pretty set with a built-up heartland. Once it was down to just prosecuting one or two wars at a time it was far more manageable. This time I was deliberate about keeping people’s opinion higher and played a little nicey nicey to ensure that I wouldn’t have to fight ALL my neighbors at once. I was trying again as Teclis on easy/easy and figured out that either diplomacy has changed enough in TW3 vs TW2 that I wasn’t getting it, or I’d just forgotten how to do it right. I accidentally won an ultimate campaign victory this morning. In case anyone is wondering, this is what you get (and you don’t even get any bonuses like you would with a Long Campaign Victory): Other than a rather generic pop-up notification there wasn’t much of a satisfying title screen (oh how I miss those from Medieval II and Rome) but the last siege and open field battle of the Greenskins was pretty damn epic. ![]() I had some glorious open field battles and some equally glorious major settlement battles with my dragons doing a whole “burning of King’s Landing” Game of Thrones thing, but in a good way! I played on Normal/Normal and found that a lot of issues people have of the AI hiding in their settlements (and thus forcing an inordinate amount of minor settlement battles) was not really a problem for me.Īs you can see, I had 158 battles outside of settlements and 202 battles inside of settlements giving me a pretty fair ratio of both. Here is my map at the end (I managed to retake Ulthuan but the Dark Elves were all over Naggaroth). It took a bit longer than I wanted but I kind of got off track beating up on the Warriors of Chaos. Well I got an Ultimate Campaign Victory with Imrik by crushing the Greenskins.

It ended up somewhere slightly above "crude", yet below handling geocoding, detecting user error and writing mail and I'm kind of glad I stopped there. It didn't take long to forget that I was really working on picking up some images for a book, but I eventually did have a decent Google Maps fetcher, to pick a w by h tile segment grid around any given latitude/longitude coordinate and zoom level (granted that Google Maps has satellite image data for it), and paste them together into a big png, jpeg or similar image. (The best part of which was the triumphant moment when my mercator projection latitude compensation suddenly came up with the same coordinates as does Google. Not quite satisfied with what I got, I recalled having read about people doing their own Google Maps photo stiching, and with a bit of help from two articles by Pascal Buirey and Charlie Savage and some guesswork, I managed to wrap up a small pike script to do the scraping for me. I'm still big on Google Maps, even though my blog header rotted and hasn't been revised for the Maps v2 upgrade in November, so I fired up Google Earth to see if I couldn't get some nice visuals there. Plead not guilty to traffic violation ny5/19/2023 If you plead not guilty, you will typically be provided a notice of court date by the court clerk. The important thing is that you don’t let this date pass without doing anything, as your inaction may result in penalties against you. If you are unsure, it never hurts to call the court or a lawyer to ask. Other times, it is the date by which you must enter a plea of not guilty, or pay the ticket, thereby pleading guilty. ![]() Sometimes this is the actual date you must show up in court. Most tickets will have a court date listed on the ticket. Each court follows its own set of rules in setting court dates, so you need to pay attention so you don’t miss any important deadlines. The first step in fighting a traffic ticket is to carefully read all of the fine print on the ticket. Thus, sometimes it makes sense to fight traffic tickets in court, especially if you dispute the facts of the subject traffic event. If you accumulate 6 or more points in a three year period, you will be required to pay mandatory surcharges to the State. In New Jersey, an accumulation of 12 points or more will result in a mandatory suspension of your driver’s license. Of course, the greatest impact of pleading guilty to a moving violation could be the points you receive on your driver’s license. This could be a minor fine for a parking ticket, or a significant fine such as those that come with a DUI. If you choose to plead guilty, you must pay the total fine associated with the ticket. You can plead guilty and pay the fine on the ticket, thereby accepting any points that come with it, or you can plead not guilty and fight the traffic ticket in court. If you are requesting information regarding Traffic Violations, Appearance tickets or Village Ordinance Violations, please contact the Court at 678-9289.If you have received a traffic ticket in New Jersey, you have two choices. The court has jurisdiction over the enforcement of local laws, including parking tickets and zoning code violations, and New York State vehicle and traffic offenses committed within the Village boundaries. Priority matrix for projects5/19/2023 ![]() Overall, the priority matrix helps one see the bigger picture and in turn, helps channel focus on important things. These are then classified under four quadrants. Basically, the priority matrix breaks out tasks or items into two dimensions: urgency and importance, and impact, and effort. Breaking Down the Priority Matrixīefore you start on working your own priority matrix, it is important you understand its underlying principles. Whereas the Eisenhower method can be utilized by anyone to manage time and priorities better, the priority matrix is geared toward business leaders in order to keep track of their team’s productivity levels. What sets the priority matrix apart from the Eisenhower method is that priority matrix project management targets operations and project managers who are in charge of large initiatives and teams, and that they are tasked to make schedules more efficient in order to maximize the return of investment. Unimportant/ not urgent tasks are dropped.Unimportant/ urgent tasks are delegated.Important/ not urgent tasks are done personally and with an end date or deadline.Important/urgent tasks are done personally and immediately. ![]() The system of Eisenhower works on this principle: tasks are prioritized according to two criteria, important/unimportant and urgent/not urgent. Yes, this system was devised by President Dwight Eisenhower. The Priority Matrix is a model based on the Eisenhower method of arranging tasks according to importance and urgency in a 2×2 matrix. How much time will you have to allocate for a certain project? What is the scope of work? How much will it cost you in terms of effort spent and actual money or other resources involved? These are some of the things you need to consider in order to see the bigger picture using the priority matrix and learn which items are critical and which ones you can set aside. Three factors are critical in using the priority matrix: cost, scope, and time. It is a structured approach to working on what matters most or in short, prioritization, based on the level of importance and effort. The Priority Matrix is a time management system or software that is supported on a number of platforms. One of the best tested and proven tools on the market today is the priority matrix. One effective way of maximizing your opportunities and proper prioritization is through having a tool to help weigh factors and determine which task to put first. So how do you prioritize anyway? Prioritization depends on a number of factors: importance, time sensitivity, costs (monetary or energetic), subsequence to a succeeding task, and more. No matter how big or small a task is, you need to be able to sort out your priorities so you don’t get overwhelmed, and so you can work on every important project well and on time. Prioritization is important not just in work, but in life in general. Whatever endeavor you plan to succeed in, you need to be able to manage your workload well, and that entails knowing your priorities. Talking the talk is easy, but walking the talk can be challenging. |
